What the mod does
Ascended Quark is a Java mod for Minecraft created by RazorDevs. It is an addon designed to bring compatibility between Quark by Vazkii and The Aether by the Aether Team.
The mod brings several custom blocks and functional items into your world. You can build with Skyroot variants of blocks, which expands your wood construction options using Aether materials. It also introduces Ambrosium Lamps for area lighting. For basic cooking, smelting, and processing tasks, you can craft and place Holystone Furnaces.
Its features touch multiple parts of the game. Honestly, on Modrinth, the project falls under building and decoration, equipment, and game mechanics. If you enjoy Quark building features but spend a lot of time in the Aether dimension, this addon helps connect the two experiences.
Installation requirements and mod loaders
Ascended Quark doesn't work on its own. You must install two required dependencies before loading it:
- Quark
- The Aether
Both the client side and the server side require this mod. You need it installed on your local game client so the custom block models and textures show up properly. Folks who try this also must install it on any dedicated server so world data and recipes sync correctly across multiplayer sessions.
For mod loader support, the project works on both Forge and Neoforge. Supported game versions are Minecraft 1.20.1 and Minecraft 1.21.1. The codebase is distributed under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only.
Known mod conflicts
Watch out for recipe issues if you build large modpacks.
The project notes known incompatibilities with Every Compat and Woodworks. When Ascended Quark runs alongside those specific mods, recipes from this mod break. If your modpack includes them, test your crafting grid and recipe viewers to make sure items craft as expected.
Planned updates
The developer plans to update the mod with additional features over time. Future plans include more cross-mod content between the two mods. RazorDevs also hopes to make original additions that preserve the general feel that Quark brings to standard vanilla Minecraft.
