Detached camera controls
Freecam detaches your view from your character model. You press F4 to step out of your body, fly across the terrain, and pass through solid blocks within your loaded render distance. Turn it off, and your perspective snaps straight back to where your character stands.
You can set up multiple static angles with tripod mode. Press F4 with any hotbar key from 1 to 9 to park a camera, then swap between viewpoints whenever you want. An unbound control player keybind lets you walk and work with your character while the camera stays fixed where you placed it.
Movement and collision settings
The mod gives you two flight styles. Default mode locks your speed at a steady rate with zero drift. Creative mode uses regular vanilla creative flight physics. Both vertical and horizontal speeds default to 1.0, and you can tweak them to fit your preference.
Collision toggles let you choose what the camera clips through. Real talk, by default, ignoring transparent blocks, ignoring openable blocks, and ignoring all collision are all active. The camera passes right through walls, doors, and gates. An extra setting checks initial perspective collisions so you don't clip into a wall when opening the view.
Visual and utility adjustments
You have several ways to adjust how the detached view looks. The initial perspective defaults to inside the player, but you can switch it to first-person, third-person, or third-person mirror. Showing your player model is enabled by default. Show hand, full brightness, and submersion fog are disabled by default.
For protection, the mod automatically closes freecam when you take damage. You can also turn on player freezing or enable block and entity interactions, choosing whether interactions originate from the camera or the player. Both interaction and freezing options carry warnings against use on multiplayer servers.
Multiplayer warnings and compatibility
Freecam is a client-side mod created by hashalite under the MIT License. It doesn't run on dedicated servers. Supported loaders are Fabric and Neoforge. Supported Minecraft versions include 26.3, 26.2, 26.1.2, 26.1.1, 26.1, and 1.21.11.
Use caution on shared servers. Many multiplayer networks treat detached cameras as cheating. Even though the mod is client-only, servers can detect it through game or mod exploits. Check server rules before you log in.
