What Fugue doesFugue is a patch mod built for Cleanroom, a 1.12.2 Forge fork that updates the toolchain and adds new APIs while keeping 99 percent compatibility with existing Forge mods. Fugue bridges the remaining gaps. It applies targeted patches so mods written for standard Forge load and run on Cleanroom without code changes. Each patch is configurable through the mod's config file, so you can disable individual fixes if something behaves differently in your pack.## Who it's forThis mod suits pack developers and players moving a 1.12.2 world or modpack from Forge to Cleanroom. If you want the newer Java support (21 or 22) and updated tooling that Cleanroom provides, but you rely on older mods that haven't been updated in years, Fugue handles the translation layer. It also loads harmlessly on regular Forge, so you can keep it in a pack that might run on either platform.## Patched modsThe default config covers a long list of mods including Charset, CodeChickenLib, Custom Main Menu, Hammer Lib, Forge Multipart, Project:Red, Solar Flux Reborn, Xaero Plus, EnderCore, Lag Goggles, Botania Tweaks, Advanced Rocketry, FoamFix, Shoulder Surfing Reloaded, Logistics Pipes, OpenModsLib, Astral Sorcery, Vampirism, Extra Utilities 2, and many others. The repository notes the list is too long to maintain manually and points users to the default config for the current set.## Compatibility and requirementsFugue requires both client and server installation. It targets Minecraft 1.12.2 exclusively and lists Forge as its mod loader - the Modrinth page marks files as Forge because CurseForge doesn't yet have a Cleanroom category. Cleanroom itself runs on Java 21 or 22. The mod is licensed under GPL v3 or later. No performance claims are made; the purpose is compatibility, not optimization.
