What it addsFunctional Storage is a drawer-style storage mod built as an alternative to Storage Drawers. It introduces several drawer types and a controller system that lets you link drawers without direct contact. The mod requires both client and server installation and runs on Neoforge and Forge for Minecraft versions 1.19.2, 1.20.1, 1.21, and 1.21.1.## Drawer types and upgradesNormal drawers hold standard items. Compacting drawers compress items into their block forms and back. A simple compacting drawer variant uses only two slots. Fluid drawers store liquids. Each drawer accepts storage upgrades that increase capacity; the upgrade system uses fewer tiers but larger boosts than the classic model. Pulling, pushing, and collecting upgrades automate item movement with adjacent inventories and ground drops.## Controller and linkingA storage controller acts as a central hub. You configure it with a linking tool, then right-click drawers within an eight-block radius to bind them. Controller access points extend the network by acting as additional controller faces when linked.## Ender drawersEnder drawers share contents across distance. Left-click one with a linking tool to copy its frequency, then right-click another ender drawer to sync them.## Armory cabinetThe armory cabinet holds up to 4096 non-stackable items by default. It can't be opened directly; you access it through external storage interfaces such as Applied Energistics or Refined Storage tools. A data pack tag controls which items are allowed inside.## Data pack tagsPack makers can restrict drawer storage with deny-list tags for items and fluids, limit armory cabinet inserts with an allow-list tag, and block specific items from creative vending upgrade slots.## Who it suitsPlayers who want compact, upgradeable storage with remote access and automation hooks. It fits modpacks that already use Neoforge or Forge and need a drawer system that integrates with AE2 or Refined Storage.
