What this mod does
Horse Armor Stand adds a stand built for one job, showing off horse armor. HyeroDrimm made it for Fabric. The idea follows the vanilla armor stand, which holds player gear on display, but here the gear is meant for horses.
If you collect horse armor, you've probably had nowhere good to show it. This gives it a spot. It's a small mod with a clear purpose.
Who it suits
Builders and decorators. Modrinth files the project under Building & Decoration. Nothing in the project describes gameplay changes beyond the stand itself, so expect a focused addition and not a big overhaul.
Getting and using the stand
You craft it. Honestly, the recipe is shown as an image on the project pages, so look there for the exact layout. Once you've the stand, you use it like a classic armor stand to display your horse armor.
What you need installed
The mod lists two requirements, Geckolib and Fabric API. Fabric is the only mod loader supported. Both the client side and the server side are marked as required, so on a multiplayer world the mod has to be installed on both ends.
Supported Minecraft versions
The declared versions are 1.20, 1.20.1, 1.20.2, 1.20.3, 1.20.4, 1.20.6 and 1.21.1. That's a specific list, so don't read it as a continuous range. Anything not on it isn't listed as supported.
Check your loader and game version against that list, and make sure both dependencies are installed.
Compatibility notes
The author says the stand should work with mods that add horse armor, as long as that armor looks vanilla and has no fancy models. Armor with fancy models falls outside that statement.
One caveat is named. Fresh Animations Extensions needs a separate fix to work properly with this mod. That fix is called Fresh Animations Fix for Horse Armor Stand Mod and it comes from PieceMaker085.
Project status
The mod is abandoned. One author says no new updates, fixes or support for newer Minecraft versions are coming. Anyone is welcome to carry it forward, with one request: link back to this mod. Don't expect the original author to add support for versions outside the list above.
It uses the MIT License. The source code and an issue tracker are linked from the Modrinth page.
