What it does
Macaw's Oh The Biomes You'll Go / We've Gone is a compatibility addon by Samlegamer that links the Macaw's building mods with the Oh The Biomes You'll Go and We've Gone biome packs. It adds the custom wood and stone types from those biome packs as material options for supported Macaw's blocks, so you can build with biome-specific timber instead of only vanilla wood.
Supported building types
Coverage includes Macaw's Bridges, Macaw's Roofs, Macaw's Fences, Macaw's Furnitures, and Macaw's Stairs. Honestly, a later 1.1 update added support for Macaw's Paths, Macaw's Doors, Macaw's Trapdoors, and Macaw's Windows.
Platforms and versions
The addon is built for both Forge and Fabric. A Modrinth listing names support for Minecraft 1.16.5, 1.18.2, 1.19, 1.19.2, 1.19.3, 1.19.4, and 1.20.1. Those are the specific builds listed, not a continuous span, so match your version carefully before installing.
Required dependencies
You need AddonsLib and Oh The Biomes You'll Go to run this. On 1.20.1 and later, Oh The Biomes We've Gone takes its place. From 1.18.2 up you also need TerraBlender. Fabric adds two more version-specific requirements: UpdateFixerUpper on 1.18.2 through 1.19.2, and Configurable Data Fixers on 1.19.3 through 1.20.1.
Optional dependency
Macaw's Mods itself is listed as optional rather than required, though you'll need at least one of the supported Macaw's building mods installed for the addon to do anything.
Handling older setups
If you already placed blocks from an earlier compatibility setup, the Forge build converts those existing blocks and items for you automatically. Fabric works differently: it relies on a separate dependent mod and a pre-filled configuration file, generated when the game launches, to carry out the block replacement.
Who it's for
This is a narrow compatibility layer, not a standalone content mod. It's only useful if you're already running both a Macaw's building mod and one of the Oh The Biomes You'll Go or We've Gone packs and want the materials to match up. Since the project requires both client and server, pack and server admins combining these mod families need it installed on both sides.
Licensing
The project uses an all-rights-reserved license, so redistribution or modification isn't covered by a permissive open license.
