Purpose of this fork
ModernFix-mVUS is an open source fork of ModernFix maintained by Coredex, with contributions by DerCommander323. Its main goal is to fill version gaps left by the upstream project. The fork publishes builds for Minecraft releases that the original mod does not cover. If the official project updates to a specific release, this fork skips that release. The upstream project stopped releasing Fabric builds for newer updates, so this fork provides Fabric builds for versions that receive an official NeoForge release.
Core performance features
The mod includes the bugfixes and performance systems built into ModernFix. It optimizes the launch process to reduce concurrency crashes and cut startup times. In Forge 1.16 through 1.19.2 modpacks, game startup runs roughly twice as fast.
Memory usage is another main focus. Real talk, with non-default settings turned on, large modpacks such as All The Mods 8 can run with 3GB or less of allocated RAM. Vanilla Minecraft can run with 512MB or less of allocated memory if you follow the project wiki guide for ultra-low memory setups.
The mod also carries an optional dynamic model loading system. It stays off by default because of mod compatibility concerns. When you turn it on, it loads models on the fly to reduce the memory footprint and bring loading times closer to older game versions.
Stability and bug fixes
Beyond memory tweaks, the mod backports fixes from newer Minecraft and Forge versions. One example is a fix for broken worlds when removing a dimension mod in 1.18. It also applies patches to older mods that lack active updates, so you don't have to update entire mod setups to fix known bugs. Built-in debugging tools help you pinpoint rare freezes and crashes without testing mods one by one through bisection.
Compatibility and setup details
ModernFix-mVUS runs on Fabric and Neoforge loaders. Supported Minecraft versions include 26.3, 26.2, 26.3-snapshot-2, 26.1.2, 26.1.1, and 26.1. Installation is optional on both the client and the server. The codebase is licensed under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only. If you hit bugs or crashes, report them to the project GitHub repository with your mod loader, game version, and installed mod list.
