Persistent Inventory Search is a client-side mod for Minecraft that solves a small but annoying problem in Creative mode. When you use the search bar in the creative inventory, the query disappears as soon as you switch to a different tab or close the inventory entirely. And this mod prevents that by saving your last search term and restoring it automatically when you reopen the search tab.
The mod doesn't change how the inventory works otherwise. All tab behavior, item placement, and search mechanics remain the same. It only preserves the text you typed into the search field. This means you can keep working on a build, switch to another block category to grab a different item, and return to the search tab to find your previous results still loaded.
It's designed specifically for players who spend time in Creative mode searching for blocks by name. Real talk, if you frequently use the search function to locate specific items and find yourself retyping the same queries, this mod removes that repetition. It offers no features for Survival mode, adventure maps, or multiplayer synchronization since it's client-side only and doesn't affect server behavior.
Compatibility is limited to the loaders and versions explicitly listed in the mod's official sources. It supports Fabric, Forge, NeoForge, and Quilt loaders. The Minecraft versions it runs on are 1.21.9, 1.21.10, 1.21.11, 26.1, 26.1.1, 26.1.2, 26.2, and 26.3. These are the only versions confirmed by the project. The mod isn't supported on servers and must be run on the client.
The mod is distributed through Modrinth and CurseForge. It carries an All Rights Reserved license, meaning redistribution outside those platforms isn't permitted without explicit permission from the author. There are no known dependencies beyond the mod loader itself.
