Satin Free Wakes

What this mod does Satin Free Wakes adds particle-based wakes behind boats and other entities moving through water, plus splash effects when something hits the surface. The visual style aims to match vanilla Minecraft rather than stand out. You will see waves trailing behind oars, water shooting out to the sides, and splashes on impact. Everything is client-side only, so servers don't need the mod installed. ## Why the fork exists The original Wakes mod moved to a newer version that requires the Satin API. According to the author, that dependency hurts frame rates. This fork takes the last Satin-free release (0.2.2) and updates it for modern Minecraft versions. The project claims up to three times the frame rate compared to the Satin-dependent build, though actual gains depend on the rest of your mod list. ## Configuration Settings live in a YACL config screen accessible through ModMenu. You can toggle debug rendering and adjust appearance options without editing files. No server-side config exists because the mod does not run on the server. ## Compatibility notes The mod targets Fabric only. Supported Minecraft versions are 1.21, 1.21.1, and 1.21.4 - each listed individually, not as a continuous range. Iris shaders are supported, with a separate compatibility list maintained by the author. There's no Forge or NeoForge port. Because the mod is client-side required and server-side unsupported, you can join vanilla or modded servers freely, but the effects will only appear on your client. ## Who should use it Players who want subtle water motion without pulling in a heavy rendering API. If you already run Fabric on 1.21+ and use ModMenu plus YACL, installation is straightforward. If you prefer Forge or play on older versions, this fork doesn't cover those environments.
