Fabric/Quilt Chunk Pregenerator is a utility mod designed for Fabric and Quilt mod loaders. It allows server administrators and singleplayer players to generate chunks in advance, minimizing lag when players explore new areas. The mod operates on the server side or in singleplayer worlds and requires Fabric API or QSL to function. But it doesn't run on the client side only.
Commands
The mod provides a simple command interface:
/pregen start <radius>: Begins pregeneration in a square area. The radius value defines the distance from the center to each edge, so a radius of 10 creates a 20x20 chunk area. Only one pregeneration task can run at a time./pregen stop: Halts the ongoing pregeneration and reports the number of chunks generated./pregen status: Displays the current progress, showing how many chunks have been generated so far./pregen help: Lists all available commands and their usage.
Use Cases
This mod is particularly useful before opening a server to players, ensuring the world is ready and reducing initial lag. It also benefits singleplayer players preparing for long exploration trips by generating terrain ahead of time. Real talk, by handling chunk generation in advance, the mod helps maintain smoother gameplay during active sessions.
Compatibility
Fabric/Quilt Chunk Pregenerator supports the following Minecraft versions: 1.19, 1.19.1, 1.19.2, 1.19.3, 1.20, 1.20.1, and 1.21.1. It's compatible with both Fabric and Quilt mod loaders. The mod is licensed under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only. Source code is available on GitHub, and a Discord server is provided for community support and troubleshooting.
