Maid Storage Manager is a utility mod for Minecraft that extends the Touhou Maid mod with new item management capabilities. It requires both client and server installation and works with Forge and NeoForge loaders on Minecraft 1.20.1 and 1.21.1.
Once installed, maids gain the ability to pick up items from the ground and store them in nearby chests. This happens automatically during their idle time. The mod adds several new items to configure this behavior, including Filter, No Access, Request List, and Storage List items.
For automatic storage, place an item frame on a chest and insert a Filter or No Access item into it. If a maid finds items in the chest that don’t match the filter, she will remove them and try to store them in other valid chests. When you throw items directly at a maid, she will hold them and deposit them into chests when idle, prioritizing chests with active whitelist filters, then chests that previously held the same item type, and finally any accessible chest without a No Access restriction.
You can also task maids with retrieving specific items. Craft a Request List item, right-click to open its GUI, and set the items and quantities you need. Optionally, sneak and right-click a chest to bind it as a storage destination. Honestly, give the list to the maid, and she will search nearby for the requested items. Upon completion, she places any found items and the list itself into the target chest, which ignores No Access restrictions for this action.
During idle time, maids can also scan nearby chests to record item quantities. Give them a Storage List item to create a Recorded Storage List, which memorizes the current state of scanned containers.
The Storage Define system lets you control which blocks a maid can access and from which faces. Right-click air to cycle through modes: Add to append new access points, Remove to delete specific ones, Replace to overwrite all access points, or Replace Specific to limit interactions to selected faces when accessing those blocks.
Compatibility notes state that maids can retrieve items from AE2 terminals, though auto-crafting is not yet supported. This feature is configurable. Chest opening and closing animations are synchronized in multiplayer when the container supports state visibility. The mod uses an item insertion method to recognize multiblock containers, so users should watch for potential conflicts with other mods that alter container interaction.
The mod’s GUI textures are modified from Touhou Maid assets and licensed under CC-BY-NC-SA 4.0. All other assets and code are covered by the MIT License as stated in the project’s license file.
