Aether Addon: Treasure Reforging

by Katie-Payn

Recycle Aether dungeon loot into raw materials like Neptune Mesh and Valkyrum Ingots. Reforge them into new gear using specific smithing templates.

Our summary

What this project does

What It Does

This addon changes how you handle excess loot from Aether dungeons. Instead of letting extra gear sit in your inventory, you can break it down. The mod lets you smelt specific pieces of equipment into raw materials. You then use those materials to craft new items.

The process relies on new smithing templates. You combine the recycled materials with these templates to create different pieces of treasure equipment. This gives you a way to swap one type of gear for another if you find the wrong item for your playstyle.

Materials and Crafting

The mod defines specific breakdowns for different tiers of Aether equipment. Here is what you get from smelting:

  • Neptune equipment breaks down into Neptune Mesh.
  • Valkyrie equipment breaks down into Valkyrum Ingots.
  • Phoenix equipment breaks down into Pyral Ingots.

There's a special case for Sun Altars. You can break these down into Pyral Shards. These shards have two uses. Honestly, you can recraft them into Pyral Ingots using Obsidian. Or, you can use them to reignite Obsidian Armor. This is useful if your armor has lost its fire resistance.

You can also craft new blocks. Valkyrum Ingots and Pyral Ingots can be combined into compacted blocks. This helps with storage or building if you want to use Aether materials in your base.

Compatibility and Requirements

This mod is an addon for The Aether. It requires the base Aether mod to function. What you get is a client-side and server-side requirement. Both sides of the connection must have the mod installed for it to work.

The mod supports three mod loaders: Fabric, NeoForge, and Forge. It's compatible with specific Minecraft versions. The supported versions are 1.19.2, 1.19.4, 1.20.1, 1.20.4, and 1.21.1. It doesn't support other versions. If you're playing on a version not listed here, the mod won't work.

Who It's For

This addon suits players who clear Aether dungeons frequently. If you find yourself with a chest full of duplicate gear, this mod gives that gear a purpose. It's also good for players who want to customize their equipment loadout. Maybe you found a Phoenix sword but you want a Phoenix chestplate. You can swap the materials to get what you need.

The mod is developed by The Aether Team. They maintain the project and handle updates. If you have questions, the team suggests joining their Discord server. They also accept support through Patreon, which helps fund development.

The code is licensed under LGPL v3.0. One assets are unlicensed and reserved by The Aether Team. You can create fan content like videos or reviews, but you can't use their brand or logo assets without permission.
