Faster wild encounters
Cobblemon Quick Battle adds a way to fight wild Pokemon without entering the standard battle screen. It works similarly to the Let's Go feature found in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. This is useful if you want to speed up your gameplay or handle wild encounters more efficiently.
How it works
You can send your Pokemon to attack a target directly. The mod calculates a win chance percentage based on several factors. Real talk, it looks at your Pokemon stats compared to the wild Pokemon, type effectiveness, and level differences. What you get also considers your first active move, its power, and whether it's physical or special. You'll see this win chance on a HUD overlay.
The HUD also shows the name and level of the Pokemon, how far away it's, and what EV yields you can expect. To help you make decisions, the mod provides sound effects for hits, super effective moves, immunities, and victories or defeats.
Customization and controls
You can use a keyboard or a controller to trigger battles. The mod includes configurable keybinds for both. There are several settings you can change in the config:
- You can toggle whether you receive XP or EVs from these quick battles.
- You can set the target distance and the cooldown between battles.
- You can move the HUD overlay to different corners of your screen.
The mod also includes safety features. It shows a gold visual indicator for shiny Pokemon so you know to battle them normally. The result also warns you if your first move slot is a non-damaging status move. To prevent accidents, the mod automatically filters out your own party members, Pokemon already in battle, Pokemon being captured, and Pokemon you already own.
Compatibility
This mod requires both the client and the server to have it installed. So it works with Minecraft 1.21.1. You can run it using either the Fabric or Neoforge mod loaders. It's designed to work with Cobblemon version 1.7 or higher.
