Our summary

What this project does

What It Does

Cobblemon Unimplemented Items is an add-on for Cobblemon that brings in a set of items from the mainline Pokemon games that Cobblemon itself doesn't include yet. It doesn't change core mechanics, it just fills in item slots trainers would expect to have.

Trainer Items

The mod adds Bottle Caps, which you can fish up, a 1 in 10 chance when you land a treasure. On their own they don't do anything. Craft one with a specific color of Apricorn and it gains a stat tied to that color: black for Attack, yellow for Defense, red for HP, blue for Special Attack, green for Special Defense, and pink for Speed. Use the finished item on a trainer Pokemon and it maxes out that one IV, if the Pokemon's IV isn't already there.

There's also a Golden Bottle Cap, a rarer fishing catch at 1 in 100, that maxes out all of a trainer Pokemon's IVs at once instead of just one stat.

Dry Root works the other direction. Breaking grass has a 1 in 10 chance of dropping one, and using it on a Pokemon resets all of that Pokemon's EVs. It also burns as fuel, same as a stick.

The mod's GitHub repository lists several more items beyond what's named on the Modrinth page: an Ability Capsule for switching between a Pokemon's two regular abilities, it won't unlock a hidden ability, Potions, Hyper Potions, and Max Potions for healing HP, Ethers and Elixirs for restoring move PP, and an Ability Patch that can unlock a hidden ability on a trainer Pokemon, listed as a fishing treasure find at 1 in 100. Power Items, held items meant for EV training, are listed as creative-mode only for now.

Repel Block

The mod also adds a Repel Block. Here's the thing, place it down and it stops Pokemon from spawning in a 21 block cube centered on it. It's flagged as creative-mode only.

Who It's For

This suits Cobblemon players running IV or EV focused teams who want catch-and-use items instead of commands or creative shortcuts for stat work. It also fits server owners who want a no-spawn zone around a base or spawn point.

Compatibility

It runs on both Fabric and Forge, and supports Minecraft 1.21.1 and 1.20.1 specifically, nothing in between is confirmed as supported. Both the client and the server need the mod installed. It's released under the MIT License.
