FirstAid

by ichttt

FirstAid replaces the vanilla health bar with eight body-part regions, adds bandage-based healing, and applies limb-specific debuffs.

Our summary

What this project does

What FirstAid changes about health and healing FirstAid removes the single vanilla health bar and replaces it with eight separate regions: head, body, legs, and feet each get their own health pool. When you take damage, only the armor on the hit region counts toward protection. Helmet and chestplate values are multiplied by a factor so they remain effective despite their lower base armor. Vanilla natural regeneration is disabled by default and stays disabled even if you uninstall the mod unless you re-enable it in the config or with the gamerule naturalRegeneration true. Healing works through bandages and plaster. Right-clicking either item opens a small GUI where you pick which region to treat. You die instantly if head or body health reaches zero. ## Debuffs tied to limb damage Damaged limbs apply constant debuffs until healed. Feet damage gives slowness. Severe head damage triggers blindness and nausea for a short time. Morphine suppresses all health debuffs while active; when the effect ends the constant debuffs return. ## Armor calculation per region Armor only protects the region that takes the hit. A hit to the legs checks only your leggings. Because helmet and chestplate armor values are lower than a full chestplate, the mod multiplies them so head and body protection stays meaningful. ## Who this mod suits Players who want a more granular survival experience where positioning, armor coverage, and targeted healing matter. It works best when you're comfortable managing extra UI and configuring the regeneration gamerule. ## Compatibility and requirements The mod runs on Forge and Neoforge. Supported Minecraft versions are 1.16.5, 1.18.2, 1.19.2, 1.19.3, 1.19.4, and 1.20.1. Both client and server must have the mod installed. It's licensed under GPL v3 with the API package under LGPL v2.1.
