Our summary

What this project does

What It Does

InmisAddon is a small addon mod built to work alongside Inmis, the backpack mod for Minecraft. On its own it doesn't add new items or gameplay systems. Instead, it reworks the visual models used for the backpacks that Inmis adds to your world, so the bags you see on your character or on the ground look better than the base mod's default look.

If you already run Inmis and want its backpacks to look sharper without changing how they work, this addon is built for that. It is not a replacement for Inmis and does nothing on its own without it installed first.

Who It Fits

This is aimed at Fabric players already running Inmis who care about how their storage items look in game. Builders and players focused on decoration get the most out of it, since the whole point of the mod is visual polish rather than new mechanics. But it has no purpose as a standalone install and will not do anything if Inmis is missing.

Compatibility

InmisAddon is built for the Fabric loader. The author has stated there are no plans for a Forge version, so players on Forge setups won't find a build here.

Supported Minecraft versions are 1.21.1, 1.20.1, and 1.19.2. Here's the thing, these are the specific versions listed for the mod, not a solid run of every release in between, so don't assume it works on nearby versions like 1.20.4 or 1.21 just because they sit close to the supported list.

The mod needs to be installed on the client. Server side support is not offered. That lines up with how backpack visuals work in general: they're something the client renders, not something the server needs to track.

License and Modpack Use

InmisAddon is released under the MIT License, one of the more permissive licenses used in modding. The project page also states plainly that it's fine to include InmisAddon in modpacks, so pack makers don't need to request permission first.

Reporting Issues

Bug reports go to the project GitHub page rather than through comments or chat. That page also hosts the mod source, along with a short readme confirming the same dependency on Inmis and the same Fabric loader and MIT license described here.
