Overview
Mekanism Covers is a lightweight addon that enables players to place a decorative block over any Mekanism cable or pipe. The cover sits on top of the underlying component, hiding it from view and shielding it from accidental damage while the network remains fully operational.
How It Works
- Craft a Cover - Combine the cover item with any block in a crafting table. The resulting item is a cover that carries the chosen block’s appearance.
- Apply the Cover - Right-click the cable or pipe you wish to conceal. The cover material will appear on the block you crafted, effectively masking the underlying Mekanism component.
- Remove the Cover - Break the block, use a Configurator in wrench mode, or employ a wrench from another tech mod to strip the cover and reveal the original cable or pipe.
Compatibility & Settings
- Client-side and Server-side - The mod is required on both sides, ensuring consistent behavior for all players.
- Supported Loaders - Works with Forge and Neoforge.
- Minecraft Versions - Compatible with 1.20.1 and 1.21.1.
- Rendering Mods - If you experience crashes with Iris, Oculus, Sodium, Embeddium, or similar rendering mods, open the configuration file at
~/.minecraft/config/mekanismcovers.jsonand setdisableAdvancedCoverRenderingtotrue.
