What it does
Moving Elevators adds a working multi-floor elevator system to the game. You place a controller at each floor, wire up a platform, and the mod moves you and anything else standing on that platform between floors at the push of a button. It's built for anyone who wants vertical transport in a base or city build without rigging up minecart contraptions or water columns.
The elevator controller
Each floor gets an Elevator Controller, which works as the button panel. Right-click a side of the controller that has no buttons to open its settings, where you can set the platform's speed, size, and give that floor a name. Day to day, the middle button calls the platform to that floor, and the two side buttons send it up or down. You're not stuck with the default block either: right-click the controller with any block in hand and it disguises itself as that block, and shift right-click with an empty hand to strip the disguise back off. Real talk, the controller also talks to redstone. A signal into it will call the platform, and a comparator reading the controller tells you whether the platform has actually arrived.
Elevator display and remote panel
Stack an Elevator Display on top of a controller and you get a readout of every floor plus the elevator's current position. Right-click the floor you're standing on to call the platform, or right-click any other listed floor to send it there directly. Floors can be color coded too, just right-click a floor's button with a dye in hand. Like the controller, the display accepts a block disguise the same way. If you'd rather not stand next to the controller to call the lift, a Remote Elevator Panel can be bound to any Elevator Controller and dropped anywhere else in the build, and you can still put a Display on top of it just like on the controller itself.
Behavior worth knowing
The controller doesn't draw any power, so there's no energy system to feed it. There's also no cap on how far apart two floors can be, so tall builds aren't a problem. One quirk worth knowing: the platform only checks for blocks at floor level as it travels, not every block in between, which the mod's own FAQ describes as a deliberate tradeoff made to avoid scanning hundreds of blocks every tick.
Compatibility
Moving Elevators needs to be installed on both the client and the server, it isn't a client-only cosmetic mod. It's available for NeoForge, Forge, Fabric, and Quilt, and its listed Minecraft versions are 26.3, 26.2, 26.1.2, 26.1.1, and 26.1. The author has said the mod is fine to include in modpacks.
