What this project does

Player Mobs Mod

Player Mobs is a Minecraft mod that adds hostile mobs wearing player skins. These mobs spawn in the world like regular enemies but appear as copies of players, using skins from a configurable list. You can add names manually in the config file or link to an external page that returns a list of names separated by newlines. The mod supports pages like whitelist.gorymoon.se to pull in Twitch subscriber lists automatically.

Features

On servers, the mod syncs with the whitelist to determine which names are available for mob generation. Mobs can be set to friendly toward players who share their exact name, preventing attacks between matches. Here's the thing, when killed, these mobs may drop the head corresponding to the skin they're using, and players can be configured to drop their own head upon death.

Commands

Two commands are available for control: /playermobs reload to refresh the name list from remote sources, and /playermobs spawn <name> [pos] to manually summon a mob at a location (where pos is optional). The mod also supports summoning via NBT data, such as /summon player_mobs:player_mob ~ ~ ~ {"Username":"Gory_Moon"}.

Customization

Custom skin textures can be added or overridden, with details available in the repository. The mod requires both client and server installation and is licensed under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 or later.
