QuickBench

by Ampflower

QuickBench optimizes shift-click crafting on Fabric and Quilt servers, cutting CPU work and network traffic while restoring vanilla recipe-book learning and fixing output-slot regressions for many modded tables.

Our summary

What this project does

What QuickBench does QuickBench is a server-side optimization mod for Fabric and Quilt that targets the crafting table. It rewrites how shift-click crafting works so the game skips the full matrix calculation every time you mass-craft an item. The result is less CPU work on the server and fewer packets sent to each client. The mod also restores the vanilla behavior where using a recipe teaches it to the recipe book, something the upstream FastBench had dropped. Because the changes live entirely on the server, the mod is marked as server-side required and client-side unsupported. S1 S2 ## Supported loaders and versions The mod runs on Fabric and Quilt. Supported Minecraft versions are 1.20, 1.20.1, 1.20.2, 1.20.3, 1.20.4, 1.20.5, 1.20.6, 1.21, and 1.21.1. S1 ## Modded crafting tables that are optimized QuickBench extends its optimization to a range of mod-added crafting blocks. Verified targets include Botania's Assembly and Manufactory Halo, Crafting Pad, and Portable Tables' Crafting Table. S1 S2 ## Modded crafting tables that had output-slot bugs fixed FastBench broke the output slot on several mods. QuickBench fixes those regressions for Yttr's Project Table, Tom's Storage Crafting Terminals, Improved Workstations Crafting Stations, Enhanced Workbenches Crafting Station, Enhanced Project Table, Crafting Craft's Inventory and Portable Crafting, FabricAutoCrafter, and Inventorio. S1 S2 ## Mods that are unaffected Applied Energistics 2 crafting terminals already had their own optimization and never broke, so QuickBench leaves them alone. S1 S2 ## Known incompatibility Yttr's Crafter Rafter is already broken in vanilla and the issue gets worse with QuickBench installed. The author lists this as the only known breakage. S1 S2 ## License The code is released under the MIT license, inherited from the FastWorkbench and FastBench upstreams. Some contributions from the current author are also offered under CC0-1.0. S2
