What It Does
Reinforced Chests adds five new chest types to Minecraft, each tougher and roomier than the last. Every tier comes in a normal size and a large version that doubles the slot count. If you have ever filled a vanilla double chest and wanted more without building a sorting system, this mod gives you a straight upgrade path.
Chest Tiers
The copper chest is the entry point, with 45 slots. One large copper chest holds 90. Step up to iron and you get 54 slots, or 108 in the large version. The gold chest holds 81 slots, 162 for the large one. Diamond and netherite chests share the same slot count, 108 for the standard chest and 216 for the large one. Real talk, the netherite chest has one extra trait the others don't share. It resists blast, fire, and lava damage.
Crafting
You cannot craft a copper chest once the Copper Age update lands in Minecraft 1.21.9 or later. Up to that point it's a starting block. Once you've a copper chest, you upgrade it into an iron chest through shaped crafting, and after the Copper Age update you can also craft an iron chest straight from a vanilla copper chest. From there, a gold chest comes from upgrading an iron chest, and a diamond chest comes from upgrading a gold chest, both through shaped crafting recipes. The netherite chest is the one exception. You make it on a smithing table by upgrading a diamond chest, the same way vanilla netherite tools and armor work.
Configuration
The mod ships with settings you can reach through Mod Menu or by editing config/reinfcore.json directly. One option controls how the chest inventory screen displays, as a single fixed view or a scrolling one. The other controls how many rows the scrolling view shows, within a range of 6 to 9 rows.
Who It's For
This is a straightforward pick for survival or modded worlds where storage keeps running out of chests. Anyone already placing iron, gold, diamond, or netherite blocks around their base will find a reason to use at least one of these tiers, and the configurable screen means it can fit either a compact UI or a sprawling one depending on preference.
Compatibility
Reinforced Chests runs on Fabric. It needs the mod installed on both the client and the server, so it'll not work if only one side has it. Minecraft version support covers eleven separate releases, from 1.21.1 through 1.21.11, listed individually by the project as 1.21.1, 1.21.2, 1.21.3, 1.21.4, 1.21.5, 1.21.6, 1.21.7, 1.21.8, 1.21.9, 1.21.10, and 1.21.11.
