Shipping Bin

by garflemn

A Forge mod for Minecraft 1.20 - 1.20.6 that adds a Stardew Valley - style shipping bin with per-player inventories, automatic midnight selling, datapack-driven trades, NBT support, and four sell-multiplier attributes.

Our summary

What this project does

What it does Shipping Bin adds a single block that works like the shipping bin from Stardew Valley. You put items inside, and every night at midnight they're sold automatically. The block uses a per-player inventory that behaves like an ender chest, so each player sees only their own contents across dimensions. The mod includes the block itself, REI integration for viewing recipes, a default vanilla trades datapack balanced around villager prices, and four player attributes that can apply sell multipliers to different trade categories such as crops, meat, and gems. ## Who it's for Modpack authors and server owners who want a simple economy sink for farmed or gathered goods. Players who enjoy Stardew Valley's sell-while-you-sleep loop will recognize the rhythm immediately. Because trades are defined in datapacks, pack makers can add or rebalance items from any other mod without touching code. ## Verified capabilities - Private per-player inventory that syncs across dimensions. - Automatic selling at midnight each in-game day. - Trades accept any item as input and output any item stack, including NBT data, so mods like Quality Food work out of the box. - Four built-in player attributes (general sell multiplier plus crop, meat, and gem multipliers) that datapacks can reference for dynamic pricing. - REI integration so players can browse available trades in-game. - Default datapack covers vanilla items with villager-balanced values. ## Compatibility and requirements The mod runs on Forge only. Supported Minecraft versions are 1.20, 1.20.1, 1.20.2, 1.20.3, 1.20.4, 1.20.5, and 1.20.6. Both client and server must have the mod installed. No Fabric or NeoForge builds are provided. The author has stated that ports to other loaders or newer versions aren't planned without funded development. ## Customization All trades live in datapacks. You can create new trades for any item, change prices, add NBT conditions, or tie multipliers to the provided attributes. Example datapacks and documentation are linked from the project page. The mod doesn't include a survival method to increase the attribute multipliers; that is left to other mods or pack scripts.
