Our summary

What this project does

What it doesShow Item is a Fabric server-side mod that lets players share the item they're holding or wearing directly in chat. When you run the command, the item appears as a clickable chat component. Other players see the item name and can hover over it to read the full tooltip, including enchantments, attack damage, durability, and any other data the item carries. Stackable items display their quantity next to the name. The message automatically uses holding or wearing depending on which slot you selected, making it clear whether the item comes from a hand or an armor slot.## CommandsThe mod registers two base commands: /show and /showitem. Without arguments they show the item in your main hand. You can target a specific slot with subcommands: main or mainhand for the main hand, offhand for the off hand, head, helmet, cap, or hat for the helmet slot, chest, chestplate, or tunic for the chestplate slot, legs, leggings, or pants for the leggings slot, and feet or boots for the boots slot. Each variation works the same way: the item appears in chat with a hoverable tooltip that reveals the complete item data.## Who it's forThis is a multiplayer utility. Server administrators who want players to share gear, trades, or loot without dropping items on the ground will find it useful. It also helps when someone asks what you're using and you want to show the exact enchantments. Because the mod is server-side only, clients don't need to install anything; they see the formatted chat messages automatically.## CompatibilityThe mod runs on Fabric and requires the server side. Client-side installation isn't supported. The listed Minecraft versions are 26.2 and 26.1.2. It's licensed under the Mozilla Public License 2.0.
