Overview
Spawner Control is a server-side utility for Minecraft servers running Forge or NeoForge. And it adds no new blocks or items; instead, it gives server operators full control over the existing Monster Spawner block through a plain-text configuration file. All changes take effect without requiring client-side installations.
Compatibility
- Loaders: Forge, NeoForge
- Minecraft versions: 1.20.5, 1.20.6, 1.21, 1.21.1, 1.21.2, 1.21.3, 1.21.4, 1.21.5
- Side: Server-only (clients don't need the mod)
Configuration Options
The mod creates a spawner-control.toml (or similar) file in the server’s config folder. Honestly, administrators can edit the following settings:
ignoreRestrictions- bypasses the game’s built-in spawning limits.spawnLimitandspawnLimitValue- caps total spawns per spawner.dropXp,dropXpValueBase,dropXpValueAdd1,dropXpValueAdd2- controls whether spawners award experience and how much.spawnCount,spawnRange,spawnDelay,minSpawnDelay,maxSpawnDelay- defines how many mobs appear, how far they can spawn, and the timing between spawns.playerRange,maxNearbyEntities- sets the distance at which players trigger spawns and the maximum entities allowed nearby.lootDropType,lootDropChance,lootDropList- configures optional item drops, their probabilities, and custom loot tables.
Getting Started
- Place the Spawner Control JAR in the server’s
modsdirectory. - Launch the server; the configuration file will be generated automatically.
- Edit the desired options, save the file, and reload the server (or use a reload command) to apply changes.
FAQ
Is Spawner Control client-side? No, it runs exclusively on the server.
Can I include it in a modpack? Yes, provided you credit the author and list the mod in the pack’s documentation.
Known Limitations
The mod doesn't support other loaders such as Fabric, and it is limited to the Minecraft versions listed above. No additional content is added beyond the configurable spawner behavior.
