Tierify

by ElocinDev

Tierify assigns random quality modifiers to crafted gear and adds an anvil reforging system powered by three custom ores across the Overworld, Nether, and End dimensions.

Our summary

What this project does

Tierify gives random attribute modifiers to tools, weapons, and armor when you craft them. It's a Fabric fork of TieredZ by Globox_Z, which originated from Draylar1's Tiered mod. But it keeps the original Tiered mod identifier and API paths intact. This keeps existing add-on mods working without extra patches.

Equipment pieces roll with distinct qualities that modify their stats. Tiered includes custom stats like dig speed, extra durability, and critical hit chance alongside standard Minecraft attributes like armor, health, movement speed, and attack damage. Visually, the mod can display quality nameplates on item tooltips. This plate display is enabled by default in the client settings, but you can turn it off if you prefer plain text.

Reforging tiers and ores

Instead of using amethyst to reroll stats, Tierify introduces three custom ores across dimensions. You reroll your gear at an anvil. Honestly, place your gear in the base slot and put the tier material in the addition slot.

Each ore controls the pool of qualities you can get:

  • Limestone generates in the Overworld. It lets you reforge items into common, uncommon, and rare qualities.
  • Pyrite generates in the Nether. It lets you roll uncommon, rare, epic, and legendary qualities.
  • Galena generates in the End. And it lets you roll rare, epic, legendary, and mythic qualities.

The red-tinted Mythic tier replaces the Unique quality found in older versions of the base mod.

Data packs and customization

Everything in Tierify is data-driven. Server owners and pack makers can edit modifier files located under data/tiered/item_attributes.

Modifier files use weights to decide how often a tier appears. Higher numbers make a modifier show up more often. You can restrict modifiers to specific items or tags with verifiers. The mod bundles AutoTag, which creates standard tags for tools, weapons, and armor pieces. Data packs can also attach custom string, boolean, integer, or double NBT values. Resource packs can set custom tooltip border textures and hex background gradients.

Technical requirements and compatibility

Tierify requires both the client and server. It runs on Fabric for Minecraft versions 1.20, 1.20.1, 1.20.2, 1.20.3, and 1.20.4.

You must install Fabric API and Necronomicon API as separate dependencies. If you're running Forge or NeoForge, you need Synitra Connector. Other required dependencies are bundled directly inside the mod jar. The code is licensed under MIT, while the new ore assets are All Rights Reserved by ElocinDev.
