What It Adds
CC: Tweaked is a continuation of the classic ComputerCraft mod for Minecraft, built by squiddev. So it puts programmable computers and mobile turtles into your world, all controlled through the Lua programming language. If you've used ComputerCraft before, the core idea stays the same. Write code, load it onto an in-game block, and run it.
Computers and Turtles
The computer block is the brain of the setup. You write Lua scripts, load them onto the computer, and run them to automate tasks inside the game. Turtles add mobility on top of that. A turtle can move through the world, place and break blocks, and attack whatever is in front of it, all driven by whatever program you give it. That makes turtles a common pick for automated mining, building, or farming setups you design yourself.
Peripherals and Networking
Beyond the base computer and turtle, the mod ships a set of peripherals you can attach to expand what a program can do. Speakers let a computer play sound. Monitors give it a screen to show text or images. Modems let you wire multiple computers together into a network so they can pass data back and forth. Here's the thing, computers can also read from and write to inventories like chests, which is what lets people build item sorting and storage management systems out of Lua code.
Who It's For
The mod is built to work whether or not you've ever programmed before. Lua is a fairly approachable language, and the project points newcomers toward outside tutorials and community walkthroughs, plus a wiki covering the various APIs and peripherals in more depth. If you already write code, the turtle and computer APIs leave plenty of room to build something more involved, from automated factories to small programs running on an in-game monitor.
Compatibility
CC: Tweaked needs to be installed on both the client and the server side. It supports the NeoForge and Fabric loaders, and the current listing covers Minecraft 26.3, 26.2, and 1.21.1 specifically, not a continuous range across every version in between. Check that your setup matches one of those before installing.
Documentation
Past the basics, the project keeps its API and peripheral documentation at tweaked.cc, worth a look once you've a computer running and want to see what else you can call from your scripts.
