What the mod does
OptiGUI changes how your inventory screens and menu windows look in Minecraft. It's a client-side mod written in Kotlin. It lets you load custom interface textures directly through resource packs. Default Minecraft locks interface screens to standard textures, but this mod replaces them when you open containers. Other mod authors can also add custom containers and customization options through its system.
Resource pack support
The mod handles custom interface packs made for OptiFine. It also supports OptiGUI resource packs, which offer more flexibility. Community packs like Colourful Containers, NEON20 ANIMATED, and Rybo's Enhanced GUI work with it. If you use packs with animated interfaces, such as Animated RGB GUI or Animated Fox Guis, you will need the Animatica mod to see animations. If a pack uses custom colors in colors.properties files, you need Colormatic instead. Packs like New Default+ only have partial support because barrel screens don't display properly.
Loaders and compatibility
You run this mod on your client. It's unsupported on dedicated servers. Official loader support covers Fabric and Quilt. Quilt runs the mod through its built-in ability to load Fabric mods. If you try compatibility bridges like Sinytra Connector or third-party setups like Lunar client, support is strictly best-effort. Issues can arise on those setups. The mod works alongside Sodium. You can also load it at the same time as OptiFine through OptiFabric. In that setup, OptiGUI applies its mixins first, which lets you disable OptiFine custom interface textures to save performance.
Setup and settings
There's no configuration screen or config file to edit. Look, no extra knobs. You put the mod file and its required dependencies into your mods folder, then activate a supported texture pack in your game options. Performance impact is negligible during normal play, though texture pack choices can cause slight variations.
