What it does
ResourcePackCached is a mod by Furq that keeps a server's resource pack loaded, so the game doesn't have to reload it when you join that server again.
The first time you join, the mod caches the server pack. After you disconnect, the pack stays loaded. When you rejoin, the reload is skipped.
The mod also remembers the last server resource pack you used. When you start the game, it applies that pack again.
How it works
The mod runs automatically. Its behavior comes down to four steps, in this order:
- Cache the server pack on first join.
- Keep it loaded after disconnecting.
- Skip reloading when rejoining.
- Reapply it on game startup.
Who it's for
The project names three groups of people who may want it.
The first is anyone who hosts resource packs on the server. Doing so simplifies updates, and it can reduce modpack size because local copies of the pack are removed.
The second is players who want a smoother experience. Real talk, the stated aims are faster join times and no repeated loading.
The third is people who test or debug mods or plugins that use resource packs. The project says the mod can speed up that testing and debugging work.
These are goals the project describes for the mod. This page doesn't give figures for how much time any of them saves.

Client side is required for this mod. Server side is listed as unsupported.
The supported mod loaders are Fabric and NeoForge. No other loader is listed.
The supported Minecraft versions are listed one by one, and they are:
- 1.20.3, 1.20.4, 1.20.5 and 1.20.6
- 1.21, 1.21.1, 1.21.2, 1.21.3, 1.21.4, 1.21.5, 1.21.6, 1.21.7, 1.21.8, 1.21.9, 1.21.10 and 1.21.11
