Container previews in your inventory
Shulker Box Tooltip shows you what sits inside packed boxes without placing them on the ground. You hover your cursor over a shulker box in any inventory screen, press shift, and a popup window shows the contents. It's simple. You save time when sorting chests or grabbing supplies before an adventure.
The mod changes the color of the preview window to match the specific dye of your shulker box. If you prefer a neutral look, you can turn that color matching off.
Preview modes and extra containers
You've two viewing options by default. The compact preview appears when you hold shift over an item. If you want to see exact slot placements, hold alt and shift together. That full view shows every item stack in its original inventory slot.
The preview is not limited to shulker boxes. It works with containers you pick up in creative mode using control and pick block. So that includes vanilla chests, barrels, and furnaces. It also works with most modded containers. If an item has an assigned loot table, the mod can show the loot table name in the tooltip, though this setting starts disabled.
Configuration and server support
You don't have to stick with default controls. Most settings adjust through a configuration menu or inside the config file at config/shulkerboxtooltip.json5. On Fabric setups, Mod Menu is recommended if you want in-game access to the settings screen. Click the gear icon next to ShulkerBoxTooltip to change options.
The mod is required on the client. It also runs as an optional server-side install. When you place it on a server, it gives you extra features like ender chest previews.
System requirements and versions
MisterPeModder released this mod under the MIT License. The project supports Fabric and NeoForge loaders. One code also includes support for Forge. Real talk, verified Minecraft versions include 26.1.1, 26.1.2, 26.2, and 26.3.
If you play on Fabric, you must install Fabric Loader and Fabric API. Developers can also hook into the mod using the public API and plugin system.
