Sound Physics Remastered

What it does Sound Physics Remastered changes how Minecraft handles audio. Instead of sounds traveling in straight lines or cutting off abruptly at block boundaries, the mod calculates attenuation, reverberation, and absorption as sound passes through different materials. You hear caves echo, walls muffle explosions, and footsteps change character depending on what you're walking on. The effect applies to game sounds and, because it works at the engine level, it also improves spatial audio for voice chat mods. ## Who it's for Players who want more immersive audio without adding new content. It suits survival worlds where hearing a distant mob through stone matters, creative builds where room acoustics add atmosphere, and multiplayer sessions using Simple Voice Chat where positional audio helps locate teammates. Server owners can install it optionally; clients must have it to hear the difference. ## Main capabilities The mod processes sound bounces and occlusion through blocks. It supports multiple bounces per sound source, varies occlusion based on block type, and exposes reflectivity and occlusion factor settings in a config screen. Debug rendering options let you visualize bounce paths and occlusion checks. Cloth Config is recommended for the UI but not required. Performance was improved by a factor of ten compared to the original fork, and several bugs were fixed including sound allowance for the /playsound command and camera-position-based processing. ## Compatibility The mod loads on Fabric, Quilt, Neoforge, and Forge. Supported Minecraft versions are 26.2, 26.1.2, 26.1.1, and 26.1. Client side is required; server side is optional. No hard dependencies exist. Recommended companion mods are ModMenu and Cloth Config on Fabric or Quilt, and Cloth Config on Forge or Neoforge. License is GPL-3.0-only.
