You craft the belt using two belt pouches and then equip it in your character’s belt slot. Here's the thing, once equipped, you can open the belt GUI with the apostrophe key (') to view and manage its contents. The belt starts with four slots but can be upgraded to six using a smithing table, with the exact limits adjustable through the mod’s configuration screen.
Controls are straightforward: pressing 'B' toggles between your main hotbar and the belt hotbar, while holding 'N' allows temporary swapping. For quick transfers, you can sneak and press the swap key to exchange the item in your hand with the corresponding slot in the belt.
The mod supports multiple mod loaders including Forge, NeoForge, Fabric, and Quilt. It's required on both client and server sides. Supported Minecraft versions are 1.20.1, 1.21.1, and 1.21.10. Configuration is accessible via ModMenu on Fabric or the Mods screen on Forge and NeoForge. Advanced users can customize which items are allowed in the belt by creating a datapack and modifying the allowed_in_utility_belt tag.
Utility Belt includes compatibility with LambDynamicLights, meaning torches and lanterns stored in the belt will emit light and illuminate the surrounding world.
