What EMIffect does for you EMIffect is an addon for the EMI recipe viewer that puts status effects inside the same searchable interface you already use for items and recipes. When you open EMI, you'll see every registered effect listed alongside its own description. The mod pulls those descriptions from language files using the same key pattern that Just Enough Effect Descriptions established, so the text feels familiar if you've used JEED before. Modders can ship their own effect descriptions by adding entries such as effect.examplemod.poison.description to their language files, and EMIffect will surface them automatically. Users and pack makers can also append custom item stacks to specific effects through a simple configuration format documented on the project wiki. The result is a single place to look up what any effect does without leaving the EMI screen. ## Who this is for If you play with mods that add new potion effects - magic mods, tech mods, or large modpacks - you probably forget what half of them do. EMIffect solves that by keeping the information where you already look for recipes. Pack authors benefit because they do not need to maintain a separate wiki page for effect tooltips; the descriptions live in the mod's own language files. Mod developers get a zero-code way to document their effects: add the translation key and the description appears in EMI for every player. ## Compatibility and requirements EMIffect runs on the client only; the server doesn't need it installed. The project declares support for three loaders: Fabric, Quilt, and NeoForge. Verified Minecraft versions are 1.21.1, 1.20.6, 1.20.4, and 1.20.1. No other versions are claimed by the project, so don't assume it works on 1.19.2 or 1.21.3 unless a future release adds them. Because it's an EMI addon, you must have EMI installed on the same loader and version. The license is MIT, so you can include it in any pack or fork it without restriction. ## What you won't find There is no server-side component, no performance optimization claims, and no built-in effect overhaul. EMIffect only surfaces information that already exists in the game registry and in language files. If a mod does not provide a description key, the effect will still appear in EMI but without extra text.
