Overview and purpose
Full Brightness Toggle is a client-side modification created by Serilum. The mod falls under the utility and quality of life category.
The author built the project after seeing a request from a player with impaired eyesight. That player needed a way to see clearly in dark environments to continue playing the game. With this mod installed, you can raise your in-game gamma to maximum value instantly. It gives you fullbright night vision on demand. Simple, fast, and direct.
Controls and keybindings
The default hotkey is G.
Pressing G toggles the brightness to full so you can see through pitch-black caves and nighttime areas. Pressing G again drops your gamma back down to your previous setting.
You don't have to stick with the default key. If G conflicts with another mod or doesn't fit your hand, you can rebind it. Open the game menu, click on Options, and go to Controls. You will find the toggle keybinding listed there and can map it to any key you prefer on your keyboard or mouse.
Server guidelines and fair play
Full Brightness Toggle is required on the client side and is unsupported on the server side. You do not need to install anything on a dedicated server to make it run.
Because this mod grants night vision without requiring torches or potions, some multiplayer server owners consider it an unfair advantage. Do not use this mod on multiplayer servers where brightness adjustments or fullbright modifications are prohibited. If you're unsure whether a server permits gamma toggling, ask the server administration team before you join.
Supported loaders and versions
Serilum maintains the mod across four major mod loaders. Real talk, it works on Fabric, Forge, Neoforge, and Quilt.
Compatibility covers several specific game releases. On version 1.21, it supports Minecraft 1.21.9, 1.21.10, and 1.21.11. It also supports versions 26.1, 26.1.1, 26.1.2, 26.2, and 26.3.
Distribution, modpacks, and project feedback
Official downloads for Full Brightness Toggle are available on Modrinth and CurseForge.
You can freely include the mod in any modpack. You only need to ensure that the download stays hosted within the CurseForge or Modrinth ecosystem.
