This add-on connects Plasmo Voice and Sound Physics Remastered so that voice chat audio is processed through the same acoustic simulation system used for in-game sounds. When both mods are installed, voices will reflect off surfaces, muffle when passing through blocks, and diminish in volume with distance, matching the behavior of footsteps, breaking blocks, or note blocks.
How It Works
The add-on doesn't introduce new mechanics, items, or user interface elements. Instead, it acts as a bridge that redirects Plasmo Voice’s audio output into Sound Physics Remastered’s propagation engine. This means voice chat is subject to the same environmental effects as other sounds, creating a more immersive experience where audio behaves naturally within the game world.
Intended Use
This mod is intended for players who already use both Plasmo Voice for proximity voice chat and Sound Physics Remastered for realistic sound simulation. It isn't required for either mod to function independently. Real talk, if only one of the two dependencies is present, the add-on loads but produces no effect. Server administrators don't need to install this mod, as it operates exclusively on the client side.
Compatibility
The add-on is designed to work with Fabric, Forge, and NeoForge mod loaders. A single JAR file supports all three platforms without requiring separate builds. Installation
To use this add-on:
- Install Plasmo Voice and Sound Physics Remastered using your preferred mod loader.
- Download the pv-addon-soundphysics JAR from Modrinth.
- Place the file into the
modsfolder of your Minecraft instance.
No configuration files or in-game toggles are provided. The add-on activates automatically when both dependencies are detected and remains inactive otherwise.
