This mod adds tiered backpacks to the game, offering progressive storage upgrades from leather to netherite. Each tier increases capacity, and all sizes can be adjusted in the configuration file up to a maximum of 16x16 slots.
Backpack Tiers and Sizes
The mod includes six backpack tiers: Leather (3x9), Copper (4x9), Iron (5x9), Golden (6x9), Diamond (6x11), and Netherite (6x13). These sizes serve as defaults, but players can modify any backpack's dimensions via the config file, allowing for personalized storage solutions while maintaining balanced progression.
Usage and Access
Backpacks can be opened by right-clicking them in the world or from the inventory using a keybind (default B). When attached to a chestplate, the backpack remains accessible via the same keybind while the chestplate is equipped. The Netherite Backpack has a special restriction: it can only be attached to fireproof chestplates, such as those made of netherite, due to its properties.
Customization and Progression
All backpacks except the Netherite variant are dyeable, functioning similarly to leather armor. Honestly, upgrading a backpack from one tier to the next preserves both its contents and its color, ensuring smooth progression without loss of items or customization.
Configuration
Extensive configuration options allow players to toggle equip methods, open methods, and other behavioral rules. Size limits and upgrade costs can also be adjusted, making the mod adaptable to various modpacks and playstyles.
Mod Compatibility
Tiered Backpacks integrates with popular accessory systems: Trinkets (Updated), Curios, and Ohmega. When any of these are installed, backpacks can be equipped as accessories and opened using the keybind (default B). Additional integrations include Shulker Box Tooltip for previewing contents in item tooltips, ItemSwapper for quick swapping with items from the Devices list, and Item Descriptions for enhanced tooltip information.
Requirements
The mod requires both client and server installation and is not client-side only. It's designed for Fabric and NeoForge mod loaders and supports Minecraft versions 26.1, 26.1.1, 26.1.2, 26.2, and 26.3.
