Applied Smelting

par Excal1bur

Applied Smelting adds ME network-connected machines for furnace processing, including a Smelter, Blast Furnace, Smoker, and Crucible, with a dedicated terminal for queue management.

Notre résumé

Ce que fait ce projet

Overview

Applied Smelting is an add-on for Applied Energistics 2 that integrates furnace processing directly into your ME network. Instead of moving items between storage and separate furnaces, this mod lets you smelt, blast, smoke, and melt materials using network-powered machines, all controlled from a single terminal.

Machines and Tiers

Applied Smelting introduces four machine families: the ME Smelter for furnace recipes, the ME Blast Furnace for blasting recipes, the ME Smoker for smoking recipes, and the ME Crucible for turning ores and raw metals into molten fluids. Each machine comes in four tiers - Default, Mk1, Mk2, and Mk3 - offering increasing speed, efficiency, and queue capacity. You can upgrade machines in place using a universal upgrade-kit chain, preserving pinned recipes, progress, fuel, cards, power mode, and network assignment.

ME Smelting Terminal

The ME Smelting Terminal provides a single interface to control all four processing queues - Smelting, Blasting, Smoking, and Crucible. From this terminal, you can view live progress, set output targets, select fuel, and see aggregate machine status across your network.

Power and Fuel Options

Each machine supports three power modes: conventional furnace fuel, AE power drawn from your network, or lava from ME fluid storage. Here's the thing, this flexibility lets you choose the most efficient energy source for your setup.

Upgrade Cards

Using AE2's standard upgrade slot system, you can install Acceleration, Energy, Fuel Efficiency, Capacity, and Redstone cards to tune speed, power draw, fuel duration, queue size, and redstone behavior per machine.

Pinned Processing and Scheduling

Right-click a machine with a valid input to pin it to that recipe, dedicating it to that task instead of the shared network queue. Multiple machines on the same network share a work queue and process different recipes in parallel.

Integration and Compatibility

Applied Smelting offers optional JEI integration to expose Crucible recipes and register every machine tier as a recipe catalyst. Jade support provides tooltips showing status, input, progress, and fuel without opening a menu. The Crucible uses fluids from common c:molten_ tags when another mod provides them, falling back to its own network-only fluids otherwise.

Requirements

  • Minecraft 26.1.2
  • NeoForge 26.1.2.80 or a newer compatible 26.1 build
  • Applied Energistics 2 26.1.10-beta or a newer compatible 26.1 release
  • Java 25
  • Optional: JEI 29.16.0.47+, Jade 26.1.0+

Current Status

Applied Smelting is in active development. Features, recipes, balance, interfaces, and artwork may change before the first stable release. Recent updates have focused on network-wide scheduling, flexible fuel selection, and a clearer terminal interface, with recipe browsing and more advanced processing controls planned for future releases.
