Crazy Chocobos!

What this mod adds Crazy Chocobos brings the chocobo from Final Fantasy into Minecraft as a tamable, rideable mount. Chocobo nests generate uncommonly in the Overworld, mostly in hot biomes. Breaking a nest drops one to three eggs. Right-click an egg to hatch it. The hatchling grows into an adult you can tame with the same foods used for horses. Once tamed, you saddle it and ride. A chest can be attached for storage and sheared off when you no longer need it. ## Breeds and variety Three breeds exist. Destriers are the largest. They move slowly but have the highest health pool. Rounseys sit in the middle for size and are the fastest and highest-jumping breed. Kennels are the smallest, modestly fast, decent jumpers, and have the least health. On top of breed differences, the mod generates nearly five thousand color and pattern combinations so two chocobos rarely look alike. ## Configuration A single config toggle called Replace Horses swaps every vanilla horse, donkey, and mule spawn for a chocobo instead. Turn it on if you want the world populated entirely by chocobos; leave it off to keep both mob types. ## Compatibility and known issues The mod runs on Forge for Minecraft 1.20.1. Both client and server need the mod installed. Animations rely on Geckolib. If animations fail to play or look wrong, the author notes this is a Geckolib issue. Workarounds include disabling Entity Shadows in game settings and shader settings, and on 1.20.1 disabling the Iris or Oculus Geckolib compatibility mod. The author states they can't fix the animation problem on their end. ## Who it suits Players who want a Final Fantasy-themed mount with more visual variety than vanilla horses, and who are comfortable running Forge 1.20.1 on both sides. The Replace Horses option also appeals to anyone who prefers a full thematic overhaul of overworld mounts.
