Notre résumé

Ce que fait ce projet

Server-Side Horror is a Minecraft mod for server administrators who want to inject unsettling atmosphere into their worlds without forcing players to install anything. Everything runs server-side, so your players join their normal game and experience the horror you've designed for them without any client-side modifications.

What the Horror Includes

The mod delivers atmosphere through two distinct channels. First, there's one dedicated jumpscare - a single shock moment designed to catch players off guard. Second, there's a full range of subtler, deeply unsettling events. These include strange sounds at unexpected moments, visual glitches that feel off, torches breaking without explanation, signs and player heads appearing in strange places, fake players joining and leaving your chat, and other eerie touches that accumulate over time. The result is a world that gradually starts to feel genuinely cursed. That mod also introduces one new structure into the game world.

The event odds are deliberately tuned. This creator designed them so that during a typical two-week play session, players encounter each type of horror event roughly twice. This keeps the scares memorable without becoming exhausting or repetitive.

How You Control It

You configure the mod two ways. Edit its JSON configuration file to set permanent, baseline behaviors and event frequencies. Or use in-game commands to trigger specific events on demand, targeting individual players or groups.

The command toolkit is full. You can spawn fake players, strike lightning on targets, trigger particle effects, break torches within a radius, place signs or player heads, create fake mining or footstep sounds, trigger sudden extended darkness, and activate any configured event on specific targets. Here's the thing, this gives you the ability to choreograph planned scares for specific moments on your server or respond dynamically to what's happening in real time. You control which events occur, how often they trigger, what messages accompany them, and even the custom text that appears on signs or in fake chat messages.

Compatibility and Installation

Server-Side Horror supports four mod loaders: Neoforge, Forge, Fabric, and Quilt. It works with these Minecraft versions: 1.21.6, 1.21.7, 1.21.8, 26.1, 26.1.1, 26.1.2, and 26.2.

Installation is entirely server-side. Your players don't need to install, update, or patch anything. No launcher modifications, no file downloads, no incompatibility warnings. They simply join the server and experience what you've configured. And this eliminates all the usual friction of adding a mod to a multiplayer server.

Best For

This mod works for multiplayer server administrators building mysterious, atmospheric experiences. The server-side architecture means your players never have to worry about compatibility. Whether you want occasional unsettling moments woven into normal gameplay or a fully orchestrated horror experience, the configuration options let you dial in exactly what happens and when.
