What this mod does
When you join a server with a forced resource pack, vanilla Minecraft pins that pack in place. You cannot move other packs above it. ServerPackOverlay changes that behavior for packs you choose.
It's a client-only Fabric mod created by kazut0 for Minecraft 1.21.11. It lets you load personal resource packs on top of a pinned server pack. The server pack stays active and doesn't move. Your chosen pack simply takes priority over it.
Marking your packs
You decide which packs get priority. The mod looks for a specific marker string at the start of the pack description inside pack.mcmeta. A marker is section sign k SPO followed by section sign r. This reset code keeps your actual pack title readable in the menu, while the hidden prefix flags the file for the mod.
Packs without this tag stay right where you put them. The mod ignores them completely.
Automatic reloading and list changes
Whenever the pack list updates, the mod checks for marked files. If a server sends a pack upon connection, the mod immediately shifts your marked packs above it. If that shift alters the active order of your assets, Minecraft reloads resources on its own. Look, you don't need to press F3 and T or open the options screen to trigger a manual reload.
Compatibility notes
This mod is licensed under the MIT License and belongs to the Utility and Quality of Life category on Modrinth.
You only need it on your client. Server installations are unsupported, which means you do not need server owners to install anything for it to work. It runs on the Fabric mod loader and supports Minecraft version 1.21.11.
