Simply No Shading

What it does Simply No Shading strips the darkening that Minecraft applies to the sides of geometry. The result is a flat, evenly lit look that matches the old internal shader from OptiFine. The mod targets three categories: blocks (including liquids), clouds, and entities. Entity support arrived in version 7.4.0 and covers both regular entities and block entities in the world. A deprecated experimental resource pack is also included for users who want shading removed from inventories, toasts, and GUI elements, though that path is no longer the primary approach. ## Who it's for Players who prefer the clean, shadowless aesthetic of OptiFine's old lighting but want a lighter-weight alternative. Because the mod runs entirely on the client, it works in singleplayer and on any server that allows client-side mods. It doesn't require server installation. ## Configuration Settings live in a JSON file at config/simply-no-shading.json. You can open the config screen two ways: bind a key in Options > Controls > Keys > Simply No Shading > Open Config Screen, or use Mod Menu and click Configure on the mod entry. The screen lets you toggle shading per category without editing the file by hand. ## Compatibility The mod is built for Fabric only. It declares active compatibility with Sodium and BedrockIfy. Mods that replace rendering are likely incompatible; shaders applied through Iris will usually render the mod ineffective rather than crash the game. Enhanced Block Entities works because its block entities behave like blocks. The project maintains two major version lines: 8.x targets the newest Minecraft releases, while 7.x continues to receive bug fixes and translations. ## License Released under the MIT License.
