What UI Lib is
UI Lib is a client-side interface library created by DAQEM for Minecraft modders. It provides prebuilt components for designing custom menus, screens, and overlays. Instead of building graphical elements from scratch, you can assemble interfaces using its ready-made tools.
This project is released under the Apache License 2.0. It belongs to the Libraries & APIs and Utility & Quality of Life categories.
Built-in UI components
UI Lib includes several specialized interface elements for menu development.
Buttons and textures
Interactive buttons in the library use nine-sliced scaling. This lets textures adapt to different dimensions without stretching corners or borders. The texture component supports both standard rendering and nine-sliced layouts for background panels or decorative framing.
Text elements
Text handling covers four distinct display types:
- Normal single-line text
- Multi line layouts
- Scrolling text for long labels
- Truncated text that cuts off cleanly
You can set custom fonts, sizes, and colors across these text formats.
Items and icons
For in-game item presentations, the library supports decorated and undecorated item rendering. This works well for inventory screens, storage views, or crafting tables. You can also place custom icons throughout your interface for achievements, player progression cues, or visual status indicators.
Scroll regions
The scroll component creates scrollable areas for large blocks of content. Honestly, but it fits screens that require dynamic navigation, such as quest logs, extended inventory grids, or dense option lists.
Compatibility and environment rules
UI Lib runs strictly as a client-side mod. It's marked as unsupported on dedicated servers, so you don't install it on server instances.
Supported loaders
- Fabric
- Neoforge
Supported Minecraft versions
UI Lib lists support for the following specific game versions:
- 26.2
- 26.1.2
- 26.1.1
- 26.1
Make sure your client environment matches these exact mod loader and version requirements before adding dependent interface mods.
