How leaves and movement work
In standard Minecraft, leaves act like solid blocks. Riding a horse through a thick canopy stops you every time you hit a branch. Passable Foliage changes that. It removes collision from leaves so you can walk, sprint, or ride mounts directly through foliage.
The mod also softens your landing. When you fall into tree leaves from high up, it reduces the fall damage you take.
You don't have to keep the same rules for everything. Anyone can configure the mod to let all entities pass through leaf blocks, or limit the effect so only players can pass through. If you want hostile mobs to stay blocked by leaves, you can set it up that way.
Enchantments and block tags
Slipping through leaves makes forest travel quick, but sometimes you need to stay on top of the canopy. The mod adds an enchantment that lets you stand on leaf blocks and climb them like a ladder.
On Fabric for Minecraft versions 1.19 through 1.20, crafting the enchanted book recipe requires the Lychee mod.
Block rules aren't locked down either. Passable Foliage relies on a block tag to decide if a block is passable. That means you can customize which blocks let entities through. If you've custom foliage or modded leaves you want to include, you only need to add them to the tag.
