Simple Planes brings aircraft to Minecraft. You build and fly four different aircraft types, each with distinct roles, from speedy solo planes to large multiplayer cargo ships. Each aircraft runs on one of three engine types: furnace-powered solid fuel engines, liquid fuel engines that burn lava and mod fuels, or electric engines powered by Forge energy and redstone flux.
Aircraft types
Small planes are lightweight and fuel-efficient, built for speed and solo flight. Large planes carry two players and support bigger upgrades plus payload delivery. Cargo planes prioritize capacity over efficiency, fitting multiple players and heavy equipment. Honestly, helicopters match large planes in payload but offer finer maneuverability for precise flying.
Power and control
Engines are toggled and throttled with the arrow keys. The furnace engine burns solid fuel sources, the liquid engine accepts lava, modded petroleum fuels, and other liquid propellants, and the electric engine draws from Forge Energy networks and Redstone Flux. Choose based on what resources you have and how much range you need.
Customization through upgrades
Aircraft upgrades split into shared options and type-specific ones. All aircraft can mount floaty bedding (water landing), a booster (higher engine throttle), armor (enchantable for extra durability), a folding upgrade (instant item pickup when leaving), additional seats for passengers, a shooter (fires arrows, fire charges, and CGM ammunition), and a decorative banner.
Large planes and helicopters unlock extra options: chests and iron chests for storage, supply crates that drop mid-flight, TNT for payload bombs, and jukeboxes for ambiance. Planes alone gain solar panels to charge electric engines.
Building your aircraft
Craft aircraft from any wood type, including modded varieties. Use nether planks to make your aircraft fireproof, letting it survive lava lakes and volcanic terrain without damage.

What you need
