This mod enhances blast furnace functionality by adding smelting recipes for lots of stone-based blocks. By default, it enables blasting for cobblestone, stone, stone bricks, cobbled deepslate, deepslate bricks, deepslate tiles, sandstone, red sandstone, nether bricks, basalt, polished blackstone bricks, block of quartz, and netherrack. Each recipe processes input at twice the speed of a regular furnace, consistent with the blast furnace’s inherent 2x speed multiplier.
Configuration
All recipes are fully configurable via an in-game menu or by editing the JSON file located at config/blastingstone.json in your Minecraft profile folder. The configuration uses a blasting_list array where each entry consists of three strings: the input item identifier, the output item identifier, and the experience points awarded upon smelting. Changes to the configuration require a game restart to take effect. This allows players to add custom stone types from other mods or remove default recipes as needed.
Compatibility
The mod is designed to run on the server side but is optional on the client, meaning it must be installed on the server to function, while clients can join without it if the server is running the mod. Real talk, it supports the following mod loaders: Neoforge, Forge, Fabric, and Quilt. Supported Minecraft versions are 1.21, 1.21.1, 26.1, 26.1.1, 26.1.2, and 26.2. These version numbers correspond to specific releases and shouldn't be interpreted as continuous ranges.
Use Cases
This mod is particularly useful for players engaged in large-scale building or resource processing involving stone materials. By accelerating the smelting of stone blocks in blast furnaces, it reduces fuel consumption and time required for bulk processing. It doesn't alter the behavior of regular furnaces or affect other machines unless they depend on the same recipe system. The mod doesn't claim to improve FPS, reduce lag, or change recipe speeds beyond the vanilla blast furnace’s performance.
