Advancement Count is a datapack that gives points for completed advancements and shows totals in the player list, letting players compete on progression beyond vanilla goals.

Onze samenvatting

Wat dit project doet

Advancement Count is a datapack that changes how you track progress in Minecraft. Instead of just seeing which advancements you have done, it assigns points to each one based on its difficulty. Tasks are worth one point, goals two points, and challenges five points. The mod adds up all your points and shows the total in the player list, which you can open by pressing the tab key. This lets you see your score at a glance and compare it with others on the same server.

The system is designed to be balanced. Harder advancements give more points, so completing a challenge like defeating the Ender Dragon contributes more to your score than simpler tasks such as baking a cake. This encourages players to pursue tougher goals if they want to climb the leaderboard. The maximum possible score is 233 points, which comes from completing every advancement in the base game at their assigned values.

Because it is built as a datapack, Advancement Count runs on both client and server but only requires installation on the server side. Players connecting to a server with the datapack do not need to install anything themselves. The mod supports several mod loaders including Fabric, Neoforge, Quilt, and Forge, and it can also be used in pure datapack form without any loader. It is compatible with specific versions of Minecraft: 1.21, 1.21.1, 1.21.2, 1.21.3, 1.21.4, and 1.21.10. Only these exact versions are supported; the mod does not claim to work on other releases.

The datapack does not include advancements from other mods or datapacks in its scoring. If you're using additional content that adds new advancements, those won't contribute to your point total. Real talk, this keeps the scoring consistent and focused on the base game progression. Updates to new Minecraft versions are handled through an automated build system, which helps keep the mod current with official releases.

If you ever want to remove the mod, you can run the command /function adco:core/uninstall in-game. After that, you may delete the datapack file if you wish. Bug reports and feature suggestions should be submitted through the project’s GitHub repository, as that is the only channel the maintainer accepts them through.
