FastQuit

van contaria

FastQuit is a client-side Fabric mod that lets you return to the title screen immediately while your singleplayer world saves in the background, keeping your world data safe without forced waiting screens.

Onze samenvatting

Wat dit project doet

Background world saving

When you quit a singleplayer game in vanilla Minecraft, the client stops and waits for the internal server to finish saving every chunk to disk. FastQuit changes that routine. It sends you straight back to the main menu while the internal server continues writing data in the background. Unloading client-side chunks and saving files happen at the same time.

Quitting might not always be instant on high render distances because your computer still needs time to clear memory. You'll still notice faster exits.

Managing worlds while saving

Worlds that are still saving appear directly in your singleplayer selection menu. You do not have to wait for the save task to finish before you interact with them. Most players can edit, delete, or recreate a world while the background process finishes. FastQuit pulls level details directly from the active server session to bypass file lock conflicts.

The mod prevents data corruption by pausing when safety requires it. If you close the entire game client, attempt to rejoin the active world, or start a manual backup, the mod holds the action until the background save finishes. If an operation fails during saving, the client displays a popup toast message.

Configuration options

You can adjust mod settings through ModMenu or by editing the configuration file located at.minecraft/config/fastquit-config.txt.

You can toggle whether completion toasts pop up when a save finishes. You can also configure the save timer display to show on toasts, on the world list, or turn it off entirely using values from 0 to 2.

Background thread priority accepts an integer between 0 and 10. Setting it above 0 reduces the processor priority of the saving thread to keep the client responsive, though saving takes longer overall. A value of 0 turns off priority adjustment. Here's the thing, you can also choose to render the saving world screen if client chunk unloading takes noticeable time.

Platform and compatibility

FastQuit requires Fabric on the client side. It is unsupported on dedicated servers.
