Onze samenvatting

Wat dit project doet

Purpose of the library

libIPN is a client library created by blackd. It manages the graphical user interfaces and configuration menus for Inventory Profiles Next. The developer built it so that Inventory Profiles Next and future mod projects could share the same underlying interface code.

You don't run this as a standalone content pack. It adds no blocks, items, or mechanics to your world. Instead, it works behind the scenes to supply the visual settings panels and options screens that parent mods need. On Modrinth, it's classified under the Libraries & APIs category and is distributed under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0 or later.

Developer integration and maintenance

Other developers can use this library in their own mods if they choose. Build artifacts are hosted on Maven Central, and Javadoc references are available online. Gradle examples in the repository show configurations written in Kotlin DSL for both Fabric and Forge targets. Honestly, the author advises developers to declare dependencies on the specific loader version.

If you plan to build with it, you should know its development state. The author states plainly that the project lacks documentation and usage examples. One author also notes that the code isn't clear. In addition, the project GitHub repository has been archived and won't receive updates there because development moved over to Codeberg.

When integrating interface screens, the library provides specific code annotations:

  • Use the @IPNIgnore annotation if your screen isn't an inventory.
  • Use the @IPNGuiHint annotation if your screen is an inventory but interface buttons need proper alignment.

Platform requirements and game versions

This project runs only on your local game instance. Client installation is required, and server installations are completely unsupported. You should never place this file in a dedicated server folder.

Supported loaders include:

  • Fabric
  • Forge
  • Neoforge

The exact Minecraft versions supported are 26.1, 26.1.1, 26.1.2, and 26.2. When you run one of these versions with a mod that depends on libIPN, your loader uses this library to draw configuration panels and maintain menu layouts.
