What Touhou Origins Does
Touhou Origins expands the Origins mod with more than sixteen new origins that mirror characters and concepts from the Touhou Project series. Each origin gives a player a distinct set of abilities, stat bonuses, and visual effects that fit the lore of the original game.
Shikigami Feature
Starting with version 2.0.0, the mod lets any player become a shikigami of another player. The shikigami gains a bundle of new powers and a few drawbacks. Key abilities include:
- Faithful Protector - extra melee and ranged damage, plus a 10 % speed boost when near the master.
- Spiritual Gaze - always see the master’s health as a glow; the master can see the shikigami too. Toggle with the secondary key.
- By Master’s Side - after a four-second channel, teleport to the master in any dimension and grant them Resistance for five seconds. Costs 50 experience points and uses the primary key.
- Linked by the Soul - if the master dies, the shikigami dies as well.
Two new keybinds are added for shikigami actions; they're unbound by default to avoid conflicts.
Origins Added
The mod introduces origins such as Earth Rabbit, Moon Rabbit, Kappa, Celestial, Fairy, Ghost, Wolf Tengu, Bake-Danuki, Satori, Oni, Vengeful Spirit, Oarfish, Nue, Crow Tengu, Jiang Shi, Vampire, Amanojaku, and Haniwa. Each origin has its own set of traits and visual cues.
Compatibility and Requirements
Touhou Origins is a client-side and server-side mod that works with the Fabric and Quilt loaders. It supports Minecraft 1.20.2, 1.20.1, 1.20, 1.19.4, and 1.19.3. The mod requires the Origins mod and the Fabric API. Versions before 2.0.0 also need Pehkui.
Language Support
The project includes translations for Brazilian Portuguese, Chinese, and Korean. The translations are provided by community members and may not be fully up-to-date.
Licensing and Attribution
The mod is released under the MIT License. It's a fan work based on the Touhou Project, whose characters belong to Team Shanghai Alice (ZUN). The mod acknowledges the original Origins mod, Pehkui, Impersonate, and Apugli as dependencies.
