Accessories Compatibility Layer

de Blodhgarm

A compatibility layer that routes Trinkets and Curios accessory content through the Accessories framework via mixin patches, for Fabric and Neoforge on Minecraft 1.21.1.

O nosso resumo

O que este projeto faz

What It Does

Accessories Compatibility Layer sits between three accessory mods and gets them talking to each other. If a modpack mixes Trinkets, Curios, and Accessories, items built for one API tend to break under another. This mod uses mixin patches to route Trinkets and Curios content through the Accessories framework, so a pack built around Accessories doesn't lose support for content made for the other two. It's filed under Utility and Quality of Life, since its whole job is fixing compatibility, not adding new gameplay content.

Who Needs This

This is for modpack builders and server admins running mods written against different accessory APIs who want to standardize on Accessories without dropping existing Trinkets or Curios content. It needs Accessories installed, plus Trinkets and/or Curios, since there's nothing to bridge without them. What you get runs on both Fabric and Neoforge and targets Minecraft 1.21.1. Both the client and the server need the mod installed, so it isn't something you can add just to tidy up your own game.

What It Replaces

If a pack already runs the separate Trinkets Compat Layer or the Curios Compat Layer, those aren't needed anymore once this mod is in place. Honestly, it's built with support for a Connector or a Kilt, which is what lets trinket and curio support carry over whether the pack runs on Fabric or on Neoforge.

Known Limitations

This is early software and it shows. Every accessory screen and inventory rendering, no matter which original mod it came from, gets unified into a single Accessories screen, so expect a different look than the native Trinkets or Curios interface. On the Curios side, some features are known problems that are still being worked on rather than fixed. Two things are missing outright right now. Active states for equipped accessories aren't implemented, so any mod that depends on reading or toggling an accessory's active state won't work through this layer. ICurioSlotExtension also isn't implemented, so stack replacement or tooltip adjustments tied to it won't function either.

License and Category

It's released under the MIT License and listed under Utility and Quality of Life, which fits what it actually does: keep other people's accessory mods working together instead of adding new content of its own.
