What CraftTweaker does for you CraftTweaker is a scripting mod that gives modpack authors and server operators direct control over game content without writing Java. You write ZenScript files to add, remove, or change crafting and smelting recipes, register custom commands, listen for game events, and adjust item properties such as durability, damage, or tool behavior. The same scripts run on both client and server because the mod is required on both sides. ## Who this is for If you build modpacks, run a server, or want to tweak a single recipe without learning a full modding toolchain, this is the tool. So it also serves as an API for other mods that want to expose their machines, items, or systems to script control. ## Verified capabilities - Add, remove, or modify crafting and smelting recipes - Script game events such as block breaks, entity deaths, or player joins - Register new commands with custom logic - Change item properties including damage, durability, and tool attributes - Provide a common API layer that other mods can hook into for scriptable machines or items ## Compatibility and requirements The mod supports three loaders: Fabric, Forge, and Neoforge. Minecraft versions explicitly listed are 1.20.1 and 1.21.1. Don't assume support for any other version or point release. Both client and server must have the mod installed. The project is distributed under the MIT license and publishes Maven artifacts for each loader through the BlameJared repository. ## Development notes The repository uses Gradle with submodules. Building produces separate jars for Common, Fabric, and Forge/Neoforge targets. Developers can depend on the common artifact for loader-agnostic code or the loader-specific artifacts for platform integration.
